Saturday 16th July
Our 2016 Annual Play Day event will be embracing the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympic Games atmosphere. The event will have a wide variety of activities and sports to look out for and as always, all activities will be FREE of charge to take part in. You can expect to see inflatables, face painting, foods from around the world and many sporting activities to join in with!
This FREE day takes place in Trowbridge Park on Saturday 16th July between 11.00am – 4.00pm. Our Annual Play Day now in its sixth year never fails to attract over 10,000 people, with activities for all the family it has become one of the major events of the Summer season in Trowbridge, bringing the Town Park to life with a range of activities for everyone to enjoy. In 2015 our Play Day was linked to the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, with a medieval theme.
The event is organised by the Active Trowbridge Team at Trowbridge Town Council and we are planning to showcase all 42 sports which will be represented in Rio de Janeiro, along with linking up all of our grass roots community sporting opportunities which are on our doorstep. Active Trowbridge provides year round activities for the community in schools, in holiday clubs and at our Summer holiday free Roadshow around the town in July and August.
The Rio-themed Olympic event will bring Trowbridge Park to life with a mixture of sports, music, food and a vibrant carnival atmosphere. We hope to engage and inspire our community to become more active, to volunteer and to take part in the sporting opportunities available.
