Today's celebration of #UKCoachingWeek focuses on the work of Healthier Communities Wiltshire, A countywide programme of community fitness including Buggy walks, seymour walking group, walking football, walking netball and an evening This Girl Can fitness session at Longfield Community Centre allof these programmes are delivered by our coaches at Active and we'd love to hear your experience of them prior to their return in November!
We couldn't let #UKCoachingWeek slip by without celebrating our own phenomenal coaching team. The contribution they make to the community week in week out is huge: coaching in schools, during the school holidays at roadshows, holiday camps, delivering active extras sports supporting sports, days, dance festivals and football tournaments. Delivering adult sports opportunities. Take part in community events like the pancake race, packing for Operation Christmas Child and stepping up to the plate during the Covid crisis volunteering in schools across Trowbridge, delivering school packs to home learners and completing shopping and prescriptions for our most vulnerable residents. We are so proud of each of them and we would love to hear your experience of the team work in the comments below
Tennis was one of the first sports to unlock after the peak of the pandemic. Our own courts in Trowbridge Park have gone from strength to strength this summer. So it is only right we celebrate all things tennis this #UKCoachingWeek. Today's #UKCoachingWeek celebrates all things football in Trowbridge. The town is well represented for Clubs, with Trowbridge Town FC - ALL Age Groups, Trowbridge Wanderers FC Youth Teams, Trowbridge Tigers FC and Staverton Rangers all training in the area Healthier Communities Wiltshire also support multi Walking Football group in town - so there's a level for everyone to enjoy the beautiful game
