School & Pre-school Programmes

Active Trowbridge offers a high standard of curricular and extra-curricular activities delivering a range of sessions to schools and early years settings. We have devised an expanded programme of sport and leisure activities which are perfect for pupils of all ages and will also have a positive impact on the school. Our specialised coaches can help improve standards of PE, offer alternative sessions and develop children’s confidence.

We work with numerous schools across the town helping teachers deliver a range of services to encourage children and families to become more active.

Our Coaches

Our team of more than 18 coaches are inspirational and are all dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion for sport, across Trowbridge and beyond.

Our coaches are fully qualified and will deliver an exciting, motivational session within a controlled teaching environment.

Breakfast Clubs

Our breakfast clubs provide a wide range of activities for all ages and also include a nutritious breakfast to start the day.

PPA Cover

Active Trowbridge will provide high quality PE lessons that are in line with the national curriculum. Schemes of work are provided to each school and will link with their yearly sport overview plan. We will ensure the children are progressing in their learning to reach their individual set targets which can link to school reports.

Lunchtime Supervision

Active Trowbridge lunchtimes are designed to engage children with structured activities and will ensure they are all participating in activity. This service has proven to be key when managing behaviour and we can also help upskill sports leaders as peer mentors.

After School Clubs

Our after school clubs offer a unique opportunity to provide sports and activities as part of the school’s extended services. Active Trowbridge have over 30 different activities to pick from including football, tri-golf, netball, hockey, cricket and dance along with alternative sports such as indo-boarding, street surfing and fencing.

Wraparound

We work in partnership with schools to provide extended activities for children who require further care after school. These clubs can consist of a variation of activities from sports, arts and crafts to music and games. Timings can be agreed upon, based on the needs of the school, children and families. Snack time will be provided for by the school.

Wiltshire and Swindon Sport – WASP

WASP is the Active Partnership for the County, one of 46 partnerships in England working to get more people active. We work with local organisations to come up with new ideas to support our communities to get involved in sport and physical activity. We want to see more people in our County being active throughout their life and to experience the health and well being benefits an active lifestyle provides.

We work with a wide range of National and Local partners including Sport England, National Governing Bodies, Local Authorities, Voluntary Sector organisations, Clubs and community groups. We have worked closely with Trowbridge Town Council supporting their work in getting Trowbridge active.

WASP provides a range of services to local partners on.

funding opportunities that can assist in supporting or developing clubs, delivering activities or facility development
education and training for those delivering coaching or club administration including bursaries that can support accessing these opportunities
